Gratitude and daily Affirmations can be powerful tools to help us stay focused on the positivity and success in our lives. A study published in the journal Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience (1) used MRI to reveal that practicing self-affirmation activates the reward centers in your brain. For example if you say to yourself “I am abundant and happy” – It’ll light up the same reward centers that respond to other pleasurable experiences, such as eating great food. or winning a prize. You can start with the simple daily mundane things to be grateful for, such as:
I am grateful for the air I breath.
I am grateful for the refreshing water I drink.
I am grateful for the food
I am grateful for my nourishing kitchen
I am grateful for the sun
Gratitude and daily words of feeling thankful, can be as simple or as elaborate as you’d like. Whether it’s writing in a journal, saying out loud, or just taking a minute to remember the good things happening around you. There are plenty of ways to incorporate these practices into your life. The key is consistency and finding what works for you. So take some time today to practice gratitude and fill yourself up with positive thoughts – it’ll make all the difference!
Remember that each day is an opportunity to start fresh. Make this one count by focusing on the positives and feeling grateful for what’s already in your life. In addition, with these two tools in hand, you’re sure to have a brighter outlook each day!
So, right now, I am giving you some homework to do after reading this post. Write 3-5 of your favorite affirmations on a sticky note. Go in front of your mirror and speak them out loud or whispering, one by one. Now stick it to the mirror where you’re going to see this first thing in the next morning. So you start affirming them again as many times as you want. So your subconscious remembers them and act on them.
There is no doubt that anything you affirm, script or visualize gets manifested.
